Our licence and who supervises it

Wagering in Australia is licensed state by state, and the licence — not the office address — is what sets the rules an operator has to follow. Ours is a New South Wales licence, issued and supervised by Liquor & Gaming NSW, the NSW Government agency responsible for liquor, gaming and wagering regulation. Our team works out of Cairns; the licence we hold, and the regulator we answer to, are in New South Wales.

In practice that means New South Wales law — principally the Betting and Racing Act 1998 (NSW) and the conditions attached to licence 4597/2024/WB — governs how we take bets, how we advertise, how we verify customers and how we handle complaints. Liquor & Gaming NSW can audit us, ask for our records, impose conditions, and suspend or cancel the licence if we get it wrong. On top of the state licence, national law applies wherever you are: the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth) bans in-play betting online and betting on credit, the National Self-Exclusion Register (BetStop) Act 2019 (Cth) requires us to check the register before we open an account and before we accept a bet, and AML/CTF law requires us to verify your identity against government records.

Customers across Australia can hold an account, and the same rules apply wherever you live. Where your own state or territory adds a requirement on top — a particular warning tagline, a particular disclosure — we apply it.

How we have chosen to operate

• No inducements. There is no sign-up offer on this site, no referral reward and no bonus that requires you to deposit or bet. That is a deliberate position as much as a regulatory one.
• No betting on credit. Debit, PayID and BPAY only, and no bet accepted without cleared funds.
• No in-play betting. Markets close when the event starts.
• Pre-commitment first. A deposit limit is set before the first deposit, not offered afterwards.
• Prices in the open. The card is the interface. Nothing flashes, nothing counts down, nothing chases you around the site.

What we offer

Thoroughbred, greyhound and harness racing from Australian tracks, and fixed-odds markets on AFL, NRL, cricket, soccer, tennis and basketball. Racing is priced win and place; sport is priced head to head, line and totals. Settlement follows the official result declared by the controlling body, applied under our betting rules.

Integrity and race fields

Race-fields approvals

Australian racing authorities own and control the publication of race fields. An operator must hold an approval from each authority before it can publish those fields or take bets on them, and must pay race-fields fees that return money to the racing industry. UPCOZ Pty Ltd operates under race-fields approvals with the principal racing authorities whose product appears on this site, across thoroughbred, harness and greyhound codes, and pays the applicable fees.

Sports integrity agreements

Markets on a sporting competition are offered in line with that competition's integrity rules and information-sharing arrangements. In practice this means:

• we offer only market types the controlling body permits;
• we share betting data with the controlling body and with sports integrity authorities on request;
• we report betting that appears inconsistent with the ordinary market;
• we suspend or remove a market where an integrity concern is raised.

Prohibited bettors and inside information

Players, coaches, officials, staff and others connected with a competition are prohibited from betting on it under the rules of their own sport. We enforce those prohibitions where a controlling body notifies us, and a bet placed in breach of them is void. Our own employees, contractors and their immediate families are prohibited from holding an account with us.

Using non-public information for betting — a late scratching not yet published, an injury not yet announced, a team change known only inside the club — is prohibited by our terms and, in most Australian jurisdictions, by criminal law. Bets placed using inside information are void, winnings are withheld, and the matter is reported.

Suspicious betting

Our monitoring looks for unusual market movement, unusual stake patterns, correlated accounts and betting concentrated on minor outcomes. Where a pattern warrants it we suspend the market, review the accounts involved, and report to the controlling body, Liquor & Gaming NSW and, where appropriate, a sports integrity authority or the police.

Integrity arrangements are the reason a market can be suspended or a bet voided without warning. It is inconvenient, and it is also the mechanism that keeps the result of the event the only thing that decides your bet.
